Case Study: Reliable Power Solution for a Large Gaming Zone

Client Overview

A large gaming and entertainment zone in Udaipur operating multiple arcade machines along with a bowling alley required a dependable power backup solution to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Challenge

The client was facing frequent and unpredictable power cuts along with voltage fluctuations, leading to sudden shutdowns of gaming machines. This not only disrupted the gaming experience but also posed a serious risk to sensitive and high-value equipment.

Despite having a diesel generator installed, there was an unavoidable delay of 4–5 minutes during power transition, causing complete stoppage of operations. In a customer-facing business like a gaming zone, even a few minutes of downtime resulted in:

  • Customer dissatisfaction and complaints
  • Loss of walk-in customers and repeat business
  • Negative impact on ratings and overall brand perception
  • Direct revenue loss during peak hours

Additionally, the presence of a bowling alley introduced intermittent high load requirements, making it challenging to design a solution that could handle peak demand without significantly increasing system cost.

Solution Provided

We designed and deployed a 20kVA (3-phase to 1-phase) Online UPS system integrated with SMF batteries, enclosed within a compact and aesthetically designed setup.

The system was specifically configured to:
  • Support 16 gaming machines and a 4-lane bowling alley
  • Provide 45 minutes of backup time
  • Handle higher overload capacity (up to ~22kW) for peak usage scenarios

This ensured seamless transition during power outages without any interruption, while also optimizing overall system cost.

Key Highlights
  • Customized solution for mixed load (arcade + bowling)
  • Enhanced overload handling without increasing system size
  • Clean and organized installation with enclosed battery setup
